At the very outset, I would like to congratulate the dynamic team of Asian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons headed by my dear friend, PRESIDENT Dr. Gunaseelan Rajan (India), PRESIDENT ELECT Dr. Mike YY Leung (Hong Kong), EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Dr. Tetsu Takahashi (Japan), IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT Dr. Hee Kyun Oh (Korea), TREASURER Dr. Toru Nagao (Japan), and EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Dr. Yoshiki Hamada (Japan) for organizing 16^th biennial congress of Asian AOMS on July 25,26 & 27^th 2024 at Chennai Convention & Trade Centre.

The Asian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons was established to improve the quality and standards of the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Asia and brings together the best minds of our region. AAOMS has been successful in achieving some fantastic feats in the past and I am thrilled to see that AAOMS is hosting 16 ^th biennial conference in Chennai, India. This conference is the 2^nd conference in India after 22 years. It is a matter of immense pride that AAOMS has second President from India - Dr. Gunaseelan Rajan at the helm of affairs.

This conference is going to be a scientific extravaganza that will be hosting delegates and trainees across the world. There are going to intellectually stimulating plenary, keynotes and scientific deliberations. Paper & Poster presentation are being organized for delegates and a plethora of Surgery Interactive Session from a reputed galaxy of surgeons will enthral the gathered.

It has been heart warming to see the passion among all our surgeons in working towards spreading awareness about maxillofacial surgery in their own capacities. Let us celebrate our speciality by coming together, joining hands and taking our fraternity to greater heights and making Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery a household name.
